Journament — scientific journals indexing system
Scientific journals are providing a platform to the scientists to publish their results and discuss the outcome. Then, there are other companies who are providing the indexing services. As an example, Thomson Reuters are indexing quality journals, while others just publish name and link of the journal. These indexing services are using different mechanisms to classify journals based on their quality.
SciMatic has developed a journal indexing system called Journament. This is actually a biproduct of SciMatic Literature Manager. Unlike google scholar or other scientific literature search engines, Journament is storing the data appeared in the search result in SciMatic Literature Manager. Then, it counts the number of clicks on each article from a single IP address. So, it hinders the self-clicked ranking.
The main purpose of Journament is to find a journal for your article by a single keyword. There are various journal finding services but they have lots of inputs. You have to enter the papers title, abstract and keywords etc. We make the life of scientists and researchers easy. So, entering a single keyword is enough to find the suitable journal.
We believe that 99% of the google data is stored that people do not look into. So, the important one is the data that people read. So, based on this phenomenon, we are ranking scientific papers, and thus the journals.
Journament is a free service, and you can easily add your journal in it. Login/Register through facebook or Gmail in by one click. Then add your journal using the following steps.
On the main page of the Journament, click Add Journal button. You will see a form looking like the one given in Figure 3.
Fill the appeared form. Add your journal short name. For example, Journal of Ongoing Chemical Research is long name, the Short name will be J Ong Chem Res. Optionally, add the abbreviated name. For example for the stated journal, the abbreviated name will be JOCR, that is composed from the first letters of each word. Add your journals ISSN nubmer, if you do not have one, enter 0000–0000. Enter your journals URL, it must be starting from http or https. For example, the url of the journal stated above is https://scimatic.org/journals/1.
Aim and scope of your journal is important. Paste it from your journals page. This will also be used to classify your journal. Finally, add your journals authors instruction link. So, if a person want to submit an article to your journal, they can click and go there. If you are asked to enter an email address of the editor or corresponding person, please add that as well.
If any article from your journal already appeared in the list, you will see a graphic like the one given in Figure 4.
If the journal added is new to the Journament system, The graphic will not appear. But you can add articles manually by clicking the “Add Article” button.
Keywords are also very important. When somebody search a keyword, we will show them the connected journals. So, you can manually add keywords to your journal by clicking “Add Keyword” button as given in Figure 4.
As stated earlier, we rank the journal by the number of times it appeared in the search results and number of articles of this journals clicked in search results. You can see the journals score out of 100 on the top as shown in Figure 4.
To manually add article, click the “Add Article” button (Fig. 4), a small box will appear. Paste the full url link of the article e.g. https://scimatic.org/show_manuscript/205. Journament will automatically add the article there to your journal, however, there are some conditions should be met.
In your journal, each abstract (or article) should have a separate page. The meta data (inside the head section of the html code) of the article must have arranged as seems in Figure 5. Your journal should be also open for the search engines. This will increase your journals visibility. Additionally, you can ask your web master to arrange the robots.txt file in your website.
In your journals page e.g. https://journament.com/journal/1635, you will see top 10 articles clicked in your journal as shown in Figure 6. They ar arranged in order of clicks. Links are available to reach them.
In case of any query, click the envelop encircled in red (Fig. 6) and write to the admin.
Each journal’s page has an indexing certificate provided by the Journament system automatically (Figure 7) on each journal’s page. This certificate shows the date of addition, name, ISSN Number and the date of certificate obtained (e.g. you print it today, it will be today’s date).
